How to scan tags in the Guard Mobile App?

The Scan Tags feature in the GuardsPro Mobile App allows guards to quickly scan and report individual checkpoints without navigating through an assigned Site Tour. This feature is useful for quick patrols or when guards need to scan specific checkpoints while on the move.

Tag scans can include the applicable timestamp and location information, providing a record of checkpoint activity.

📌 Prerequisites

Before scanning tags, make sure:

• You are logged in to the GuardsPro Mobile App.

• You are assigned to the required Post Site.

• You have checked in to the assigned post site.

• The required tag has been properly configured and is available at the checkpoint.

• Bluetooth is enabled on your device when scanning BLE Beacon Tags.

• Location/GPS permissions are enabled while using the app.

✅ Follow the steps below to scan tags in the GuardsPro Guard Mobile App.

Step 1. Check In to Your Post Site

Log in to the GuardsPro Mobile App and select Post Site from the Home screen.

Select your assigned post site from the list and tap Check-In to begin your shift.

Step 2. Select Scan Tags

After selecting your assigned post site:

1. Tap Check-In to check in to the respective post site.

2. From the post site submenu, tap Scan Tags.

3. The tag-scanning interface will open, allowing you to scan the available checkpoints.

Important Notes:

• Before checking in, make sure you Clock In for your shift so that your working hours are properly recorded for the assigned shift.

• If check-in is configured based on a geofence, make sure you are within the green geofence area displayed on the map in the GuardsPro Mobile App before attempting to check in.

Step 3. Select the Tag to scan

Next, you will see four tag options to scan,

• QR Tags

• NFC Tags

• Virtual Tags

• BLE Beacon Tags

Step 4. Scan the Tag

Select the appropriate tag type and follow the applicable scanning method:

• QR Tags: Point your device's camera at the QR code to scan it.

• NFC Tags: Hold your device close to the NFC tag to scan it.

• Virtual Tags: The tag is detected based on your device's GPS location.

• BLE Beacon Tags: The BLE beacon connects to your device through Bluetooth and is detected when you are within the required range.

Once the tag scanned:

1. Review the tag details displayed on the screen.

2. If required, add notes or media files, such as photos or videos.

3. Tap Submit to complete the scan.

The checkpoint activity will then be recorded in the system.

Important Note :If you do not need to add any notes or media, tap Skip at the bottom of the screen.

Important Notes

• Make sure you are checked in to the correct post site before scanning tags.

• The tag must be properly configured and assigned to the applicable post site.

• QR Tags require access to your device's camera.

• NFC Tags require an NFC-enabled device, and the device must be brought close enough to the tag for it to be detected.

• Virtual Tags rely on your device's GPS/location services and require you to be within the configured location area.

• BLE Beacon Tags require Bluetooth to be enabled and the guard's device to be within the required detection range.

• If the tag cannot be scanned, verify that the required device permissions are enabled and that you are within the applicable scanning or detection range.

Scan Tags Through a Site Tour

You can also use the Site Tour feature to scan tags and track checkpoint completion as part of an assigned site tour.
