The Open Shifts feature in the GuardsPro Guard Mobile App allows guards to view and request available shifts that have not yet been assigned to another guard.
Open shifts are posted by Admins or Back Office users when additional coverage is needed, including for vacant or last-minute shifts. Eligible guards can view these shifts in the mobile app and review the shift details before submitting a request.
If you are available to work an open shift, you can select the shift and tap Take Shift to submit your request. The request will be sent to the Admin or Back Office user for approval.
Once approved, the shift will be assigned to you and will appear in your Confirmed Shifts section.
This feature makes it easier for guards to find additional work opportunities while helping companies fill vacant shifts efficiently.
📌 Prerequisites
Before requesting an open shift, make sure:
You have an active account in the GuardsPro Guard Mobile App.
The relevant post site is assigned to you for the open shift.
Your Admin or Manager has created and made an open shift available for you to request.
✅ Follow the steps below to view and confirm open shifts in the GuardsPro Guard Mobile App.
Step 1: Navigate to Open Shifts
Log in to the GuardsPro Guard Mobile App.
From the Home screen, tap Open Shifts.
The number displayed next to Open Shifts indicates the total number of open shifts currently available for you to request.
Note: The available shift count may change as new open shifts are added or existing, when shifts are assigned.
Step 2: View Available Shifts
You will see a list of open shifts available for you to request.
Review the available shifts and select the shift you are interested in.
Step 3: Review the Shift Details
Review the shift details, including the date, time, post/site, and any other available information, to make sure the shift matches your availability.
If you would like to request the shift, tap Take Shift at the bottom of the screen.
Review the confirmation prompt and tap Confirm to submit your request.
Once the request is submitted successfully, the shift status will be displayed as Request Sent.
Your request will then be sent to the Admin or Back Office user for approval. The shift will be added to your Confirmed Shifts once it has been approved.
Step 4: View Your Confirmed Shift
Once your open shift request has been approved by the Admin or Back Office user, the shift will be assigned to you and will appear in the Confirmed Shifts section of the GuardsPro Guard Mobile App.
Open Confirmed Shifts to review the details of your approved shift, including:
Shift number
Post/site name
Shift date
Start and end time
Total shift hours
Breaks
Shift status
An approved shift will display the Confirmed status.
Note: Before your scheduled shift, make sure to review the date, time, and post/site details to ensure you have the correct shift information.
Important Notes
Requesting an open shift does not automatically confirm the shift.
Your request must be approved by an Admin or Back Office user before the shift is assigned to you.
Once approved, the shift will appear under Confirmed Shifts in the mobile app.
If your request is still pending, check the shift status before considering yourself scheduled for the shift.
Only request an open shift if you are available to work on the scheduled date and time.
Always review the shift details after approval to ensure you have the correct post/site and schedule.
🎉 That's It!
By following these steps, you can easily view available open shifts for your assigned post sites, submit a request, and check your Confirmed Shifts once your request has been approved.
