How to start a vehicle patrol on the Guard Mobile App?

Vehicle Patrolling in the Guards Mobile App allows security guards to complete assigned patrol routes while traveling in a vehicle. Guards can follow assigned routes, check in at scheduled post site, track patrol time, submit reports, complete assigned activities, and check out of each hit.

This helps security companies maintain real-time patrol visibility, accurate activity records, and better coverage of assigned patrol areas.

📋 Prerequisites

Before starting a vehicle patrol, make sure:

• A vehicle patrol route has been assigned to you.

• Your device's GPS/location permission is enabled.

• You have been clocked in at starting of your vehicle patrol begin.

Important: Make sure your device's location services remain enabled throughout the patrol so your patrol activity can be tracked accurately.

✅ This guide will walk you through the steps to start the vehicle patrol route on the Guards Mobile app:

Step 1. Clock In to Your Assigned Shifts for the Vehicle Patrol

After logging in to the GuardsPro Mobile App:

1. Go to the Home page.

2. Tap Time Clock at the bottom of the screen.

3. Select the assigned shift for the vehicle patrol route.

4. Tap Clock In to start your shift.

Once you are successfully clocked in, you can proceed to the Vehicle Patrol section and start the assigned patrol route.

Important Note: If you have an assigned scheduled shift, always use the scheduled shift clock-in option rather than manual clock-in.

Step 2. Open Vehicle Patrol

After successfully clocking in:

1. Go to the Home Screen.

2. Tap Vehicle Patrol to view your assigned vehicle patrol routes and begin your patrol.

Step 3. Select a Vehicle Patrol Route

After opening Vehicle Patrol, you will see a list of all vehicle patrol routes assigned to you. The routes may be either Scheduled or Continuous.

Select a Patrol Route

1. Tap the vehicle patrol route you want to complete.
2. Review the Route Details to make sure you have selected the correct route.
3. Tap Confirm to proceed.
4. If prompted, select the appropriate route to continue.

Important Notes:

• Scheduled Route: The route displays the assigned days and specific start and end times. You can start the route only during the scheduled time.
• Continuous Route: The route does not have a specific start or end time. You can start the route at any time on the assigned days.

Step 4: Review the route details and Start

On the Route Details page, review the information for the selected patrol before starting the route.

The details may include:

• 🎯 Total Number of Hits

• ⏱️ Patrol Duration

• 📅 Scheduled or Unscheduled Status

• 🕐 Scheduled Time for Each Hit, when applicable

• Other relevant patrol information

Make sure you have selected the correct route and reviewed the assigned patrol details before proceeding.

Start the Route

Once you are ready to begin the patrol:

1. Tap Start Route.

2. If prompted, confirm that you want to start the vehicle patrol.

The vehicle patrol route will begin, and you can proceed with the assigned patrol hits.

Step 5. Check In at the First Hit

After you start the route, the Vehicle Patrol screen displays the information you need to navigate and complete the patrol, including:

• ⏱️ Current and Remaining Patrol Time

• 📍 Your Current Location on the map

• 📝 Vehicle Patrol Description

• 🧭 Directions option

• ✅ Check In option

Use the map and Directions option to navigate to the first assigned hit.

Check In at the First Hit

Once you arrive at the first assigned hit:

1. Tap Check In.

Important: If check-in is configured using geofencing, you must be within the designated green geofence area to check in successfully.

Step 6. Submit Reports and Check Out to Complete the Hit

While you are checked in:

1. Review the time remaining for the current hit next to the "Check Out" option.
2. Tap Reports to create and submit any reports related to the vehicle patrol.
3. Complete all other assigned activities and tasks, such as:
   • Add Passdown information.
   • Complete assigned Tasks and Checklists.
   • Complete any other required activities for the current hit.
4. Once all required activities and reports are completed, tap Check Out to complete the current hit.

The current hit will be marked as completed, and you can proceed to the next assigned hit on the route.

Step 7. Repeat the Process for Each Assigned Hit

Repeat the same process for each assigned post site and hit on the vehicle patrol route:

Continue the same Check In → Submit Reports & complete the assigned task→ Check Out to complete the hit 

Continue until all assigned hits and required activities for the vehicle patrol route have been completed.

End the Vehicle Patrol

After completing all assigned hits and activities:

1. Tap End Route to end the vehicle patrol.

2. Confirm the action, if prompted.

The vehicle patrol route will be completed and finalized.

Step 8. Review the Completed Route

Once the vehicle patrol route is completed, you can review the Route Details to check the overall patrol status including:

• ✅ Number of Hits Completed

• ⏳ Pending or Missed Hits, if any

Review the route details to verify that all assigned hits have been completed successfully and to identify any missed or pending hits.

• 📍 Keep GPS enabled: Keep your device's location services enabled throughout the patrol for accurate location tracking.

• 📶 Maintain connectivity: A stable internet connection is recommended while performing the patrol.

• ⏰ Follow scheduled times: Complete scheduled hits according to their assigned times whenever applicable.

• 🏁 End the route: Always use End Route after completing the patrol rather than simply closing the app.

• 🚫 Avoid ending early: Ending the route before completing the required hits may result in an incomplete patrol record.
