GuardsPro allows guards to take breaks during their scheduled shifts. Depending on how the break is configured by the admin, a break can either start automatically at a predefined time or be started and ended manually by the guard.
Admins can configure breaks in two ways:
Automatically Started Break: The break starts automatically based on the scheduled time or after the specified clock-in duration. The guard must manually end the break to resume time tracking.
Manually Started Break: The guard can start the assigned break manually from the mobile app when needed.
📌 Prerequisites
Before taking a break, make sure:
You are registered and logged in to the Guards Mobile App.
You have clocked in to your assigned shift.
A break has been configured for your shift by your admin or manager.
✅ Follow the steps below to take a break during your scheduled shift using the GuardsPro Mobile App.
Step 1: Clock In to Your Shift
Before starting a break, you must be clocked in to your assigned shift.
Open the GuardsPro Mobile App.
From the Home screen, tap Time Clock.
Tap Clock In.
Select the appropriate scheduled shift.
Complete the clock-in process.
Important: If you have a scheduled shift assigned, make sure to clock in through the assigned shift. The break configured for that shift is linked to it, so clocking in through the correct shift ensures the break is applied and tracked properly.
Step 2: Start Your Break
Once you have clocked in to your assigned shift, you can start your break when needed.
From the Time Clock screen, tap Take Break.
Important Note: If the break is configured to start automatically, it will begin automatically based on the predefined break schedule or once you have been clocked in for the specified duration.
However, you must manually end the break to resume time tracking. This ensures that your working hours continue to be recorded correctly for the assigned shift.
Step 3: Select and Start Your Break
If multiple break options are available, select the appropriate break type.
Select the desired break type.
The break timer will start automatically.
If applicable, enter any break notes.
Tap Submit.
Your break will now be recorded, and the break timer will display the duration of your current break.
Step 4: End Your Break
Once you have completed your scheduled break, you must manually end the break to resume tracking your working hours.
From the Time Clock screen, open your active break.
Tap End Break.
Review and confirm the prompt to end the break.
Tap Submit to complete the process.
Your break will now be ended, and time tracking will resume for your assigned shift.
Break Time Log
After ending the break, the Time Log Entries section will record the break details, including the break start time, end time, and total break duration. This allows you to verify that your break was recorded correctly.
Step 5: Clock Out
Once you have completed your scheduled shift, submitted all assigned tasks and required reports, and taken the appropriate breaks according to the scheduled break times or company policies, you can clock out to end your shift.
From the Time Clock screen, review your shift details.
Tap Clock Out to end your shift.
Confirm the clock-out action if prompted.
Review Your Shift and Break Information
The Time log entries also provides an overview of your work and break activity, including:
⏱️ Time since your last break
🕐 Total time clocked in for the current shift
☕ Current or completed break details, when available
Important Notes
Make sure to end your break when you are ready to resume your patrol duties.
If the Take Break option is not available, contact your admin or manager to confirm that a break has been configured for your assigned shift.
Always follow your scheduled break times and company break policies.
