The Messenger feature in the GuardsPro Guard Mobile App allows guards to communicate with other guards and administrators. Guards can use Messenger to discuss post orders, tasks, schedules, and other site-related information.
You can also share images, audio messages, and video files directly through a conversation, which can help provide additional details and avoid miscommunication.
Prerequisites
Before using Messenger:
- Make sure you are logged in to the GuardsPro Guard Mobile App.
- Make sure you have access to the Messenger feature.
- For a post site-specific conversation, you must be associated with the relevant post site.
✅ This guide will walk you through the steps to use messenger in the Guard Mobile App:
Step 1. Navigate Messenger
- Log in to the GuardsPro Guard Mobile App.
From the bottom menu, tap Messenger.
- The Messenger screen displays your existing conversations.
Tap any conversation to open it and continue the conversation.
Send a Message
Once you select a recent conversation, you can review the instructions and send a message or share additional information.
- Enter your message in the message field.
- To share additional information, tap the Add (+) button.
- Select the type of file or media you want to share, such as an image, audio message, or video.
- Review your message or attachment, then tap Send to share it with the conversation.
Step2. Start a New Conversation
On the Messenger screen, tap the Plus (+) button in the bottom of the screen.
Note: This option is available only if your admin or manager has granted you the required access or permission through the Back Office Dashboard.
Further, you can choose from the following options:
- Start a Post Site Chat: Select a post site to chat with guards or back-office users assigned to that post site.
- Create a New Group Chat: Create a group chat with multiple back-office users and guards. You can associate the group with a specific post site or skip this step if a post site is not required.
- Chat With: Start a one-on-one conversation with another user.
Option 1: Start a New Post Site Chat
If you want to associate the conversation with a specific post site, you can start a new chat directly from the Start New Chat screen.
- From the Start New Chat screen, tap Start New Post Site Chat.
- On the Select Post Site screen, search for or browse the list to find the required post site.
- Tap the appropriate post site to select it.
- Continue the conversation by entering your message and, if needed, attaching media files such as images, videos, or audio messages.
Option 2: Create a New Group Chat
- From the Start New Chat screen, tap Create New Group.
- Enter a group name and, if needed, select a post site. Tap Skip if no post site is required.
- Select the participants you want to add.
- Tap Create Group to start the conversation.
Important note : At least 2 users are required to create a group.
Option 3: Chat With
The Chat With option allows you to start a one-on-one conversation with another user.
- Tap Chat With.
- Search for and select the user you want to message.
- Enter your message and start the conversation.
Step3. Manage Conversation
Archive or Mute a Conversation
You can archive or mute conversations directly from the Messenger list.
- From the Messenger list, slide left on the conversation you want to manage.
Select the appropriate option to Archive or Mute the conversation.
View Archived Conversations
- On the Messenger screen, tap the three dots in the top-right corner.
- Select Archive to view your archived conversations.
Unarchive a Conversation
- Open the Archive list.
- Slide left on the conversation you want to restore.
Tap Unarchive.
Important note : If the group or chat created by your admin or manager, that cannot be deleted or option to leave the group.
Important Notes
- Messenger allows you to communicate with other guards and administrators based on the users and conversations available to your account.
- You can share images, audio messages, and video files to provide additional details about site-related tasks or instructions.
- A conversation can be archived when you no longer want it to appear in the main Messenger list.
- Muting a conversation does not mute push notifications. Push notifications may still be received for muted conversations.
- Make sure you select the correct post site when starting a site-specific conversation.
