The NFC tags in GuardsPro can be used as checkpoints to verify guard activity during site tours. An NFC Tag ID is generated in the Back-Office Dashboard and written to a physical NFC tag using NFC Tools, a third-party app, and an NFC-enabled smartphone.
Once configured with the correct Tag ID, guards can scan the NFC tag using the GuardsPro Mobile App during site tours. Each scan is recorded in the system, helping accurately track guard activity, maintain accountability, and verify patrol completion.
✅ This guide will walk you through the steps to write NFC tags using the NFC Tools App:
🧭 Step 1: Install the NFC Tools App
- Download and install NFC Tools from the Google Play Store (Android) or the App Store (iOS). It’s absolutely free!
📂 Step 2: Open the App and Select Write
Once installed, open the app and click on the Write option.
- On the next screen, click on Add a record, then select Text.
- Please note: The NFC Tag ID must match the ID generated in GuardsPro, and the text record must be written using the NFC Tools app.
✏️ Step 3: Enter the Tag ID#
Add the Tour Tag ID# exactly as generated in the GuardsPro Back‑Office Dashboard under the NFC Tour Tag section.
This ensures guards can initiate NFC‑based site tours by scanning the tags with their NFC‑enabled mobile device through the GuardsPro mobile app.
⚠️ Note: The Tag ID is case‑sensitive and must be entered exactly as generated in GuardsPro. Any mismatch in characters (uppercase vs lowercase) will prevent guards from scanning the tag successfully.
💾 Step 4: Write to the NFC Tag
- On the NFC Tools app screen, you will see the text you entered.
- Click on Write, and the app will prompt you to place the NFC tag near your device to complete the writing process.
Once the NFC tag is successfully written, a confirmation message will appear..
📲 Step 5: Use the NFC Tag in GuardsPro
- After writing, you can create a create a site tour for these tags for these tags and assign it to the respective guards.
- Guards will then be able to scan the NFC tags during their patrols, ensuring accurate reporting and accountability.
🎯 That’s it! Writing NFC tags using the NFC Tools app is quick and ensures seamless integration with GuardsPro site tours. By following these steps, guards can scan tags confidently, and admins can maintain accurate patrol verification.
