The Asset Categories feature in the GuardsPro Back Office Dashboard helps you organize and manage assets efficiently. By grouping assets into clearly defined categories, you can improve visibility, streamline assignments, and maintain better control over company resources.
Asset categories allow you to classify assets based on their type, purpose, or usage — for example, vehicles, devices, uniforms, or equipment — making it easier to track, assign, and generate reports on assets.
📌 Prerequisites
Only super admin, admins, or authorized users create and manage asset categories.
Asset Categories are accessible if the Asset Management module is active in your company subscription.
Decide on naming conventions and classification logic before creating categories to maintain consistency.
✅ This guide will walk you through the steps to create and manage asset categories on the Back Office Dashboard:
🔐 Step 1: Log In & Navigate
Log in to the GuardsPro Back Office Dashboard.
From the left‑hand menu, go to Asset Management → Categories.
Select New Category from the following screen.
A new side screen will open displaying a form to create a new asset category. Asset categories can be created based on your operational requirements to help organize and manage assets effectively.
📋 Step 2: Add a New Category
On the Add Category panel, enter the following details:
Category Name (Mandatory) – Use clear and descriptive names for easy identification.
Description (Optional) – Provide additional context if needed.
(Optional) Customize the form by dragging and dropping additional fields such as Text Input, Number, Dropdown, Date Picker, or Time Picker into the form area.
Review the entered information carefully, then click Submit to save the asset category.
Once saved, the newly created category will appear in the Asset Categories list.
⚙️ Step 3: Manage Asset Categories
All existing categories are displayed on the Asset Categories screen.
You can use the Search option to quickly find a specific category.
Manage categories using the three‑dot menu (⋮) on the right side of each category:
✏️ Edit a Category – Update category details.
🗑️ Delete a Category – Remove a category that is no longer required.
📑 Bulk Actions (if applicable) – Use checkboxes to select one or more categories, then choose an action from the Action dropdown to delete categories in bulk.
