Asset Categories help you organize and manage assets efficiently within GuardsPro. By grouping assets into clearly defined categories, you can improve visibility, streamline asset assignments, and maintain better control over company resources.
Asset categories allow you to classify assets based on their type, purpose, or usage—for example, vehicles, devices, uniforms, or equipment—making it easier to track, assign, and generate reports on assets.
✅This guide help you to create and manage asset categories using the Back Office Dashboard.
Log in to the GuardsPro Back Office Dashboard. From the left-hand menu, navigate to Asset Management and select Categories from the drop-down.
Next, select New Category from the following screen.
A new screen will open displaying a form to create a new asset category. Asset categories can be created based on your operational requirements to help organize and manage assets effectively.
In the Add Category panel:
Enter the Category Name (mandatory) : Use clear and descriptive category names for easy identification
Add a Description (optional) to provide additional context.
(Optional) Customize the form by dragging and dropping additional fields such as Text Input, Number, Dropdown, Date Picker, or Time Picker into the form area.
Review the entered information to ensure accuracy.
Click Submit to save the asset category.
Once saved, the newly created asset category will appear in the Asset Categories list.
Manage Asset Categories
All existing asset categories are displayed on the Asset Categories screen. You can use the Search option to quickly find a specific category.
Futher, you can manage individual categories using the three-dot menu (⋮) on the right side of each categories.
Available options include:
Edit a category
Click the three-dot (⋮) menu next to a category and select Edit to update its details.Delete a category
From the same three-dot (⋮) menu, select Delete to remove a category that is no longer required.Bulk actions (if applicable)
Use the checkboxes to select one or more categories, then choose an action from the Action dropdown to delete categories in bulk.
This feature helps ensure your asset data remains clean, organized, and easy to manage, enabling smoother operations across your security teams.
