The Vehicle Patrol feature in GuardsPro is designed to help security companies to efficiently manage and monitor patrol operations. It allows supervisors to create and assign specific patrol routes to guards operating in vehicles, track their movement in real time, and ensure that all designated check points are covered during a patrol shift.
Click on Vehicle Patrol on the main menu and click on Routes from the drop-down. You have a list of routes already added to the system. To add a new one, click on New Route.
On the next screen, start adding the details one by one. Enter the route details by adding the name of the route, and description.
If you want to ensure that each route begins precisely as scheduled for the required days and times, you can leave the Continuous Route option turned off. This allows the route to run automatically at the specific predefined times.
Select the dates along with the Start and end times for the route. Select the specific days when the route should be active. Make use of the guard filter to refine the guard’s list based on Department, Skill Set, and Category.
Note: The start and end time values are set by default from 12:00 AM (midnight) to 11:59 PM. Please adjust them according to your schedule.
If you turn on the Continuous Route option, the route can start at any time on the scheduled days rather than following a fixed start time.
Next, assign one or multiple guards at once, select the post site, and then define the route by selecting the number of hits, time duration for each hit, and if to schedule hits or not. If you select yes, you can define time multiple times when to start the hit.
Note:
- Guards must be assigned to all the post-sites in-order for the sites to be included in the planned route.
- You have the option to shuffle the post site list in a random order to add an extra layer of security by making patrol routes less predictable or sort based on distance.
Now go ahead, add instructions. Select a vehicle for the route, or a new vehicle can be created on choosing ADD vehicle. On the following pop-up page add the required details of the vehicle and click ADD.

Next, Enable or disable settings as per your needs.
Note:
- All post-sites must have a geofence created before enabling the vehilce patrol route. Once the "Auto Check-In/Check-Out of the Post Sites Based on Geofence" setting is enabled, guards will automatically check in and out of post-sites as the vehicle patrol enters and exits the geofenced areas.
Now hit Submit or you can click on Save Draft to easily save your progress and come back to it later, ensuring that no data is lost and improving your overall workflow efficiency.
