The NFC Tools app is a third-party mobile application that allows you to write and manage NFC tags using an NFC-enabled smartphone. In GuardsPro, the NFC Tools app is used to write the NFC Tag ID generated in the GuardsPro Back-Office Dashboard onto a physical NFC tag.
Writing the correct Tag ID ensures that guards can successfully scan the NFC tags using the GuardsPro mobile app during site tours. Each scan is recorded in the system, providing accurate tracking, accountability, and patrol verification.
Before you begin, ensure the following:
You have an NFC-enabled mobile device.
The NFC Tools app is installed on your device (Android or iOS).
The NFC Tag ID has already been created in the GuardsPro Back-Office Dashboard.
A physical NFC tag is available.
✅ This article explains how to write NFC tags using the NFC Tools app on Android or iOS devices.
Step 1: Install the NFC Tools App
Download and install NFC Tools from the Google Play Store (Android) or the App Store (iOS).
Step 2: Open the App and Select Write
Firstly, you need to write NFC tag ID using NFC Tool App. Please note that NFC Tag ID needs to match with NFC Tag ID in GuardsPro and the text record must be written using third party NFC Tools App.
Once you download the app, next please open it and click on the "write" option.
On the next screen click on Add a record option, next select Text.
Step 3: Tag ID#
Here you can go ahead and add the tour tag ID#.
The Tour Tag ID entered here must be the exact ID generated in the GuardsPro Back-Office Dashboard under the NFC Tour Tag section.
This will enable security guards to initiate the NFC- based site tour by using an NFC-supported mobile device to scan the tags through their GuardsPro Mobile app.
Next, on the NFC Tool app screen, you will see the text you just entered. Above it, click on "Write," and the app will prompt you to place the NFC tag near the device to complete the writing process..
Once the NFC tag is successfully written, a confirmation message will appear and that's it.
Further, you can then create a site tour for these tags and assign it to the respective guards, allowing them to scan the NFC tags during their patrols.
